FAQs

What is electrostatic disinfection?

Electrostatic disinfection is the process of spraying an electrostatically charged mist of disinfectant solution onto surfaces and objects. The spray contains positively charged particles with the ability to give surfaces an even, 360-degree coating. This includes awkwardly shaped objects and hard to reach places.

What products are used for electrostatic disinfection?

DJ's Clean Sweep uses MediClean Germicidal Cleaner Concentrate which is a hospital grade, EPA approved disinfectant.

How long does electrostatic disinfection last?

One common misconception is that if you use an electrostatic disinfection system you can disinfect much less frequently. This is not the case, although electrostatic cleaning kills germs and viruses, it will not continuously prevent covered surfaces from becoming re-infected. Establishments with high use and traffic such as hospitals, restaurants and schools, will benefit more from continued or regular use of electrostatic disinfection.

What does it mean to be certified?

Although certification is not required, being certified can make a difference in the results. It ensures the proper spraying technique is applied and the correct ratio is used when preparing the disinfectant. If the solution is not properly mixed it is ineffective.  For DJ's Clean Sweep, being certified means the successful completion of the Coronavirus  Disinfection Course delivered by Pathogen Response & Resource Alliance.
